CARRYING ON GENERATIONS OF GROWTH

PROPULSE'S STORY BEGINS IN DUSSELDORF, GERMANY in 1923.

1923

Anton Schieffer, a rubber goods trader, established Schieffer GmbH & Co. KG in 1923. The firm grew and prospered, but World War II brought disaster and the company was completely destroyed.

1945

In 1945, Schieffer GmbH & Co. KG was rebuilt in Lippstadt, and success followed again.

1990

Twenty-five years later, Anton Schieffer transferred the business to his sons, Egon and Joachim, who took the company to new heights. Under their direction, Schieffer entered the high-pressure hose business with excellent results.

1998

In 1998, after presiding over significant growth, the brothers passed the company to the third generation. Ekkehart Schieffer and Wilfried Schieffer-Adick executed a plan for global expansion that included subsidiaries in Israel and Romania.

1998

At same time, Schieffer Co. International, L.C. was founded in Peosta, Iowa, by the Schieffer family and managing partner, Jeff Theis, a 30-year veteran of the high-pressure fluid industry.

2005

The first thermoplastic, yarn-reinforced lines were installed in 2005. This allowed us to have vertically integrated thermoplastic manufacturing.

2014

Schieffer Co. weathered the largest economic downturn since the Great Depression by virtually doubling revenues.

2015

Schieffer Co. International, L.C., the U.S. presence of the Schieffer Group, announced the changing of its name to ProPulse, A Schieffer Company to better represent the products and services it offers its markets.

2016

In 2016 our Cleanstream™ patent was issued.

2017

Also in that year, ProPulse received our first patent for UberFlex™ and integrated the most automated assembly operation and advanced manual crimping machinery in North America.

2018

In 2018 ProPulse invested in a new building and additional equipment; making room for a 50% increase in overall hose manufacturing capacity.

2020

We broke ground next to our production facility to add 20,000 square feet. This new space allowed us to improve our manufacturing processes and add a new hose extrusion line, which is the most advanced thermoplastic hose extrusion process in the United States.
